Push and Pull!

Would you walk down that rusty road,

On the pebbles that made you yearn.

Would you hold up your guard like a sword

Or shatter it just to learn?

Would you lose yourself just for once

Like that fluttering strand of hair

Or would you stray around like that brittle leaf

Just to wander around in the air?

What do you tell yourself when you lose it all

When the sky seems to move too fast?

Do you even wish to stop by and ask

What are they running past?

There are days between your highs and lows

Where you just wanna feel your breath.

Do you even miss the you, you were

Before your soul was touched by death?

What do you think would have possibly happened,

If your conscious had not distanced away?

What do you think would have possibly changed,

If that night your soul did not go astray?

Do you feel the strength in the barren trees

Once they lose all their leaves?

They stand more firmly now, than ever

Against the cold, dark winter breeze.

Did you try standing at the edge of the abyss

With your heart hanging by a thread?

You will feel time rushing by

Along with this poetry you have read!

So have you watched nature rhyming with your thoughts

And have you felt that first drop of rain?

And have you heard the rains crashing down

Just when you feel dejected and in vain?

While you capture yourself changing every day

And curate your story bit by bit;

It is just an ounce of holding back

While you end up giving more in.

And then there are days when you stop by and ask

Was it necessary or enough?

It plays in a loop till you accept the fact

That it is just a push and pull or a bluff!

And with acceptance comes liberation and freedom

The free will to express or lie.

And with free will, comes the splitting decision

Whether to change the course or just comply.

The swirling wind, the strong barren trees,

The moving clouds and rain

All of them whisper in unison,

"You need all of it in order to renounce the pain!"
