Imperfectly Perfect. :)

With the soothing summer breeze as her hair played in the wind and ended up entangled in a knot, so were her thoughts. The night was chilly and had enveloped the whole vicinity with an air of eeriness. "Why is my love so dysfunctional?" Her subconscious had slyly disappeared, when she needed her the most. There were friends whom she could ask, but they were far away. The top floor verandah of the slumbered hostel building, overhanging the whole valley in front, had just one word hanging in the air! "D-Y-S-F-U-N-C-T-I-O-N-A-L"

"Don't cry for your love,
cry tears of joy...
'coz you're in alive...
Cradled in LOVE!"

Putting the song on repeat mode, she kept running her whole life before her eyes like a movie screen. Yes a movie it was. Predictable. Clitched. Like a circle. History just kept repeating.

Every other girl had a normal life she thought. Why not her?! The mundane monotony soothed her as she drowned herself in the trail of thoughts. She thought she was matured this time. She thought she was experienced. But where did all the reason and logic disappear suddenly?!

Why was it that every time she prioritized the present more than the future and ended up in a month or two's sheer ecstasy followed by anticipation and anxiety?! She could not fathom how could she love someone so deeply and wholly every single time?! Was it the feeling that was ever consuming or was it her?! Was it the quest for sheer perfection or just fate?

After all perfection disrupts the balance of nature! If only it was an alternate universe where every "Once upon a time..." had a "... and they lived happily ever after." She knew she always ended up in the most perfect situations with the most perfect people. After all it wasn't everyday that she woke up feeling special and wanted. :)

The phone buzzed. The screen read an unknown number. And the rest is just history. Yet one line from that long conversation with a dearest friend kept lingering... "We are parallel. We neither converge nor diverge."

Yes. It was like running together on parallel tracks. After all perfection also had an imperfection. The imperfection of never ever meeting. :)
